Reflecting Pool

Reflecting Pool is a digital and ceramic exploration of Colorado’s winter landscape. By projecting a 3D scanned and animated landscape onto a ceramic piece of bark, nature is captured both in digital and natural forms. Audio of hiking through snow and other natural sounds places the viewer in a meditative space as they become immersed in the constructed landscape. This dichotomy of mediums reflects on how natural objects are impacted by time and season shifts, and how digital mediums can place these fleeting experiences and forms into a time capsule of preservation.
